Description

This Reference Material (RM) is intended to support investigations used to identify peptides in complex peptide mixtures such as those in mass spectrometry-based proteomics. RM 8321 can be used to help assess the confidence of peptide identification within a laboratory or comparability between laboratories or among different measurement approaches. RM 8321 can also be used in the development and validation of new investigative approaches for identifying peptides in complex peptide mixtures. A unit of NIST-RM-8321 consists of three vials, each containing approximately 50 µL of frozen aqueous solution containing 0.1 mL/L formic acid. The peptides in this RM are estimated to be in a concentration range of 0.1 pmol/µL to 10 pmol/µL. For further details please see certificate.

NIST provides over 1300 Standard Reference Materials® as well as articles and practice guides describing the development, analysis and use of SRMs.

NIST Standard Reference Materials are used by analytical laboratories in industry, academia and government in order to facilitate commerce and trade and to advance research and development. The SRMs are produced by the engineering laboratory, the material measurement laboratory, and the physical measurement laboratory at NIST. They are available for chemical composition, physical properties, and engineering materials.
