Description

This Reference Material (RM) is intended for use in validating the counting, sizing, and morphological analysis of liquid-borne particles over an approximate size range of 1 µm to 30 µm. NIST-8634 has been developed to closely mimic the optical properties of aggregated proteinaceous particles but may also be applicable in the validation of non-optical instruments. A unit of NIST-8634 consists of one vial containing approximately 20 mL of a suspension of ethylene tetrafluoroethylene (ETFE) particles in a solution of 0.02 % sodium azide and 0.02 % surfactant [4-(1,1,3,3-Tetramethylbutyl)phenyl-polyethylene glycol]. /// Sample value(s) - please ask for current certificate.

National Institute of Standards and Technology

NIST provides over 1300 Standard Reference Materials® as well as articles and practice guides describing the development, analysis and use of SRMs.

NIST Standard Reference Materials are used by analytical laboratories in industry, academia and government in order to facilitate commerce and trade and to advance research and development. The SRMs are produced by the engineering laboratory, the material measurement laboratory, and the physical measurement laboratory at NIST. They are available for chemical composition, physical properties, and engineering materials.
