Description

This Reference Material (RM) is intended to support investigations of peptide and protein identification in complex samples such as those in mass spectrometry-based proteomics. RM 8461 can be used to help assess the confidence of peptide and protein identification within a laboratory or comparability between laboratories or among different measurement approaches. RM 8461 can also be used in the development and validation of new investigative approaches for identifying peptides and proteins. A unit of RM 8461 consists of a single vial containing approximately 0.5 g of freeze-dried human liver material.

NIST | National Institute of Standards and Technology

NIST provides over 1300 Standard Reference Materials® as well as articles and practice guides describing the development, analysis and use of SRMs.

NIST Standard Reference Materials are used by analytical laboratories in industry, academia and government in order to facilitate commerce and trade and to advance research and development. The SRMs are produced by the engineering laboratory, the material measurement laboratory, and the physical measurement laboratory at NIST. They are available for chemical composition, physical properties, and engineering materials.
