Description

This Standard Reference Material (SRM) is intended for use as a primary calibration standard for the quantitative determination of the arsenic species arsenous acid (AsIII). This SRM can be used for quality assurance when assigning values to in-house control materials. A unit of NIST-3037 consists of two 10 mL sealed borosilicate glass amber ampoules of an acidified aqueous solution prepared gravimetrically to contain a known mass fraction of arsenous acid. The solution contains hydrochloric acid at a volume fraction of approximately 1 %, which is equivalent to a concentration (molarity) of approximately 0.12 mol/L. Due to digestion of the starting material, arsenic trioxide, with sodium hydroxide, sodium is present in the ampoules at approximately 1000 mg/kg. /// Sample value(s) - please ask for current certificate.

National Institute of Standards and Technology

NIST provides over 1300 Standard Reference Materials® as well as articles and practice guides describing the development, analysis and use of SRMs.

NIST Standard Reference Materials are used by analytical laboratories in industry, academia and government in order to facilitate commerce and trade and to advance research and development. The SRMs are produced by the engineering laboratory, the material measurement laboratory, and the physical measurement laboratory at NIST. They are available for chemical composition, physical properties, and engineering materials.
