Description
This Standard Reference Material (SRM®) is intended for the calibration of instruments and techniques used for the determination of mercury in natural waters. It is designed for the preparation of calibration solutions and for use as a spike sample in a method-of-additions analytical procedure. A unit of SRM 1641e consists of 10 ampoules, each ampoule containing approximately 10 mL of solution consisting of a trace amount of mercury in approximately 3% mass fraction nitric acid and 2% mass fraction hydrochloric acid, equivalent to amount-of-substance concentration (molarity) values of approximately 0.5 mol/L nitric acid and 0.5 mol/L hydrochloric acid. /// Sample value(s) - please ask for current certificate.

NIST provides over 1300 Standard Reference Materials® as well as articles and practice guides describing the development, analysis and use of SRMs.
NIST Standard Reference Materials are used by analytical laboratories in industry, academia and government in order to facilitate commerce and trade and to advance research and development. The SRMs are produced by the engineering laboratory, the material measurement laboratory, and the physical measurement laboratory at NIST. They are available for chemical composition, physical properties, and engineering materials.
