Description

The round robin test will be carried out on two different pieces of Aluminium alloy profile-scrap. Both alloys are within the same alloy group. Purpose of this round robin is the identification of the alloy type as well as the chemical composition. Furthermore, it shall give the participants information about if their analysis can differentiate between the two alloys ///The material shall be prepared and analyzed by the common method of the receiption control. For example LIBS, XRF, OES or ICP. The alloy number and the method used shall be reported additionally to the results ///After the completion of the test, each participant will receive a copy of the test‘s evaluation and a certificate of participation, according to the DIN EN 38402-42 standard. An evaluation on the identification and the used methods will be done as well /// Due to the nature of the material and the use of different analytical methods, the round robin test is only carried out after a certain minimum number of participants has been reached in order to achieve statistical robustness.

Metallogie

Metals science and software competence combined: the META<L>LOGIE division of pdv-software GmbH organizes interlaboratory comparisons in the metallurgical environment or for recycling processes. These round robin tests contribute to the accuracy of the analytics used, the determination of measurement uncertainties and the improvement of laboratory processes.

Professional distribution of material samples and the information/specifications for the uniform implementation and evaluation of the tests is carried out in accordance with DIN ISO 5725-2. Test results are made available to the participating laboratories anonymously. After completion of the evaluation, each participant receives an interlaboratory test evaluation and a certificate of participation.

The conclusions of the round robin tests result in reference materials of homogeneous composition suitable for validating methods or laboratories.
