Description
The material for this sample was prepared, using a special method of casting known to provide material of uniform composition in a form suitable for use as calibration reference materials in optical emission spectroscopic and XRF analysis. Representative samples were examined spectroscopically and found to give reproducible results.

BAS was formed in the UK in 1935 and have been providing certified reference materials to the iron and steel industry for over 80 years.
BAS’s portfolio includes CRMs as chip and powder samples suitable for chemical analysis in a range of plain carbon and alloyed steels, cast irons, ferro-alloys, non-ferrous alloys, ores, slags and ceramic materials.
BAS also provides CRMs as solid (disk or block) samples suitable for use in optical emission (OES) and X-ray fluorescence (XRF) spectrometry. The range includes plain carbon, low alloy and highly alloyed steels, cast irons, and some non-ferrous alloys. Setting-up Samples of steel and cast iron are also offered.
A range of non-certified reference materials (RMs) are available for chemical and spectroscopic analysis e.g. high purity metals and ceramic materials, low alloy cast irons, high chromium irons, nickel chromium irons and austenitic (Ni-resist) irons and copper base alloys.
