Application Note: 2-Propyl-(E)-2-pentenoic Acid is useful in study of Valproic Acid (VPA_, which is an anti-epileptic drug, also used in migraine prophylaxis and the treatment of bipolar disorders. 2-Propyl-(E)-2-pentenoic Acid is useful reagent to study the teratogenic side effects mediated by inhibition of histone deacetylases.
