Description
Category: Aliphatics, Mutagenesis Research Chemicals /// Appearance: White to Off-White Low Melting Solid /// Application Notes: Perfluorooctanoic Acid is a perfluoroalkyl isotopomeric compound. Perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) is one of the most commonly used perfluorinated compounds and is known to cause hepatic peroxisome proliferation in rodents (1). Being a persistent environmental pollutant, it can accumulate in human tissues via various exposure routes. PFOA may interfere in a toxic fashion on the immune system, liver, development, and endocrine systems through alteration of DNA methylation enzymes (2,3,4).
