Description
RNA G-quadruplexes are formed by self-assembly of guanine-rich RNA stacks into stacked G-quartets. This can occur in protein-coding (mRNA) as well as non-coding (ncRNA) transcripts. There is growing evidence that RNA G-quadruplexes are involved in different biological functions: telomere elongation, DNA recombination, transcription, RNA post-transcriptional mechanisms (pre-mRNA processing, mRNA turnover, targeting and translation), and are associated with sevral human diseases.BioTracker
