Description

Zinc finger protein ubi-d4 (UniProt: Q92785, also known as Apoptosis response zinc finger protein, BRG1-associated factor 45D, BAF45D, D4, zinc and double PHD fingers family 2, Protein requiem, DFP2) is encoded by the DPF2 (also known as BAF45D, REQ, UBID4) gene (Gene ID: 5977) in human. BAF45D is a member of the requiem/DPF protein family and is ubiquitously expressed. It may serve as a transcription factor required for the apoptosis response following survival factor withdrawal from myeloid cells. It is also believed to have a role in the development and maturation of lymphoid cells. It contains 3 zinc-finger domains (C2H2-type aa 209-232, PHD type I aa 270-330, and PHD type 2 aa 327-377). Two isoforms of BAF45D have been described that are generated via alternative splicing.
