These strains supply tRNAs for AGG, AGA, AUA, CUA, CCC, GGA codons on a compatible chloramphenicol-resistant plasmid. Thus the Rosetta strains provide for ""universal"" translation which is otherwise limited by the codon usage of E. coli.
