A putative second messenger that mobilizes calcium from intracellular stores via an IP3-independent pathway. Activates phospholipase D (PLD) and inhibits chemotactic motility and invasiveness of tumor cells. Also stimulates growth of quiescent Swiss/3T3 fibroblasts.
