Native, platelet membrane glycoprotein IIbIIIaA from human platelets. A platelet integrin that binds fibrinogen via the recognition sequence Arg-Gly-Asp-Ser. Acts as a receptor for such adhesive ligands as fibrinogen, fibronectin and von Willebrand factor during platelet stimulation. Glycoproteins IIb and IIIa constitute the fibrinogen receptor and are required for platelet aggregation.
