Description
A quenched fluorescent substrate for MMPs (excitation maximum: ~325 nm, emission maximum: ~393 nm). MMP-3 (stromelysin-1) hydrolyzes this substrate (kcat/Km = 59,400 M-1s-1) at a rate 60X faster than hydrolysis by MMP-1 (interstitial collagenase). NFF-2 shows little discrimination between MMP-3, MMP-2 (gelatinase-A, kcat/Km = 54,000 M-1s-1), and MMP-9 (gelatinase-B, kcat/Km = 55,300 M-1s-1)., A quenched fluorescence substrate for MMPs.
