Description

Ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA) is a metal chelating agent, which is used in treating patients with heavy-metal poisonings like lead or mercury. It is also used to minimize the non-specific serum protein interactions in enzyme immunoassays. Due to its ability to inhibit protein agglutination, it is useful to make blood/plasma samples ,and in immunoanalysis to detect CD3 cells. EDTA combines with buffers or ionic salts to stimulate the immune cells in the blood samples. It is used in multiple aspects to treat and analyze psoriasis. EDTA functions as an antioxidant to combat psoriasis, while it is also used to understand the disease at a molecular level., A useful agent for radioimmunoimaging.
