Description
Collagen type 1 is a fibrillar collagen present abundantly in skin, bone, vasculature, and calcified tissues of teeth and bone. It is also seen in organs like the heart and lungs. Collagen type 1 is a heterotrimer consisting of two ?1 (CI?1) and one ?2 (CI?2) chains with a helical region made of repeating units of proline ,and hydroxyproline.
