Description

Application field(s): Clinical, Other, COVID-19 /// NCAP-1 is a reference material (RM) designed for improving accuracy of SARS-CoV-2 nucleocapsid (N) protein measurements, as well as an antigen source for use in SARS-CoV-2 immunological assays. Many commercially available SARS-CoV-2 test kits exploit the interaction between the SARS-CoV-2 N-protein and human anti-N antibodies. Reference values for the molar concentration, mass fraction, and mass concentration of SARS-CoV-2 N-protein in NCAP-1 have been established, as listed in Table 1. Information values for the size heterogeneity of SARS-CoV-2 N-protein in NCAP-1 are provided belos. A unit of NCAP-1 contains 0.4 mL of SARS-CoV-2 N-protein in 50 mM Tris buffer, pH 8, with 150 mM sodium chloride.

NRC | National Research Council Canada

The NRC CRM program was originally established in 1976 to produce certified reference materials for inorganic and organic marine environmental analysis. The NRC is now an internationally recognized producer of high-quality CRMs with materials now available for analytes such as:

  • Algal and cyanobacterial toxins
  • Amino acids
  • Contaminants
  • Dietary supplements
  • Ethanol
  • Mycotoxins
  • Particle size
  • Peptides
  • Proteins
  • Stable isotopes standards
  • Total element content
  • Trace element species
  • Veterinary drugs
