SUS Nell GmbH, founded by Ulrich Nell, has been producing samples for optical emission spectrometers and combustion analyzers since 1986, filling the need for cost-effective recalibration and control samples with excellent homogeneity for drift correction and monitoring instrument calibration.

These materials are quality-tested in-house on OES equipment for composition and homogeneity. While certified reference materials (CRMs) are required for calibration, SUS samples are an excellent alternative to certified reference materials for frequent or daily use.

SUS Nell samples are available in cylindrical form and powder formats and with a wide range of alloy compositions. Their samples are trusted by spectrometer manufacturers, institutes, and laboratories in the metal-producing and metal recycling industries.

In addition to SUS Nell's standard range, it is possible to have custom samples produced according to your specifications. Depending on your needs, these can be produced in quantities as low as approximately ten samples or in larger batches up to 300 kg. Furthermore, SUS Nell offers the option of producing samples using powder metallurgy, for which in-house capsule production is available, enabling flexible fulfillment of individual requirements. SUS Nell also offers powder materials for combustion analysis, including cast iron and pig iron powder; other materials are available on request. For customers requiring more extensive quality assurance, SUS Nell works with a renowned, accredited partner laboratory that can certify samples on request or perform analyses in accordance with DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025, including a detailed test report.
