A potent, cell-permeable inhibitor of gamma-secretase that blocks the formation of Abeta42 (IC50 = 1.8 µ,M). Treatment of HEK293 cells with gamma-secretase inhibitor VI results in an increase in beta-secretase-cleaved, APP fragments and secreted APPSalpha, but no change in secreted APPSbeta, indicating a specific inhibition of gamma-secretase activity., Cell permeable. Potently inhibits Abeta42 production (IC50 = 1.8 µ,M).
