Beta-glucosidase (&beta,-Glu) catalyzes the hydrolysis of the glycosidic bonds to terminal non-reducing residues in beta-D-glucosides and oligosaccharides, with release of glucose. The BioTracker 510 Green &beta,-Glu Dye is permeable through the cell membrane and is fluorescent substrate [9- (4&prime,-methoxy-2&prime,-methylphenyl) -6- (&beta,-D-glucopylanosyloxy) -xanthen-3-one] for detecting &beta,-glucosidase in living cells. Non-fluorescent dye is hydrolyzed by the &beta,-Glucosidase, and generates bright green fluorescence (510 nm) when it is irradiated by the 490 nm excitation light.Spectral PropertiesAbsorbance: 492nmEmission: 510nm
