A cell-permeable, naturally isolated Ginkgo biloba biflavanoid that acts as a general pre-mRNA splicing inhibitor (ICmax = 50 µ,M in splicing assays using HeLa nuclear extract) by blocking the spliceosome-meidated splicing process at the prespliceosome/A complex stage.
