A cell-permeable protein kinase C (PKC) inhibitor that selectively inhibits PKCalpha (IC50 = 43 µ,M) and PKCgamma (IC50 = 50 µ,M) over PKCdelta, betaI, and betaII isozymes in in vitro assays. Reported to induce apoptosis in rodent cerebellar granule neurons., Protein kinase C (PKC) inhibitor.
