Application Note: (Acetylamino)[(4-amino-3-methoxyphenyl)methyl]propanedioic Acid Diethyl Ester is an intermediate used in the synthesis of rac 4-Amino-m-tyrosine Dihydrochloride (A632020), which is is a degradation product of Pheomelanin, a compound found in hair and skin in humans, Also, it is used in the synthesis of hydriodic acid degradation products of the red-brown polymeric pheomelanin pigment.
