Pristinamycin is an oral streptogramin antibiotic. It consists of two antimicrobial drugs approximately 30% of pristinamycin IA and 70% of pristinamycin IIA. Pristinamycin is primarily sourced from gram-positive bacteria like streptomycetes. It is a secondary metabolite and can also be produced from the genus Xenorhabdus.
