Recombinant alpha1-3,6-galactosidase expressed in E. coli. Catalyzes the hydrolysis of alpha1,3-linked and alpha1,6-linked, non-reducing terminal galactose from complex carbohydrates and glycoproteins. Particularly efficient in removing alpha-linked galactose under conditions where the pH must be neutral or above, as with live cells.
