Description

This Standard Reference Material (SRM) is intended for use in calibration of instruments and techniques used for the determination of 24R,25-Dihydroxyvitamin D3 [24R,25(OH)2D3]. A unit of NIST-2971 consists of five two-milliliter ampoules of ethanolic solution. Each ampoule contains approximately 1 mL of solution.

What: Ethanolic solution certified for the mass fraction value of 24R,25?Dihydroxyvitamin D3 [24R,25(OH)2D3].

Why: The vitamin D metabolite 25-hydroxyvitamin D (25OHD) is the serum biomarker measured to determine a person?s ?vitamin D status.? This metabolite is further metabolized in the body, to both active and nonactive forms, such as 24R,25(OH)2D3, and the levels of these compounds in patient samples have shown promise towards the indication of kidney disease and hypercalcemic diseases.

Who: Clinical researchers working towards the development of techniques for the determination of 24,25(OH)2D3 in serum.

How: This SRM is intended for the calibration of LC-MS and LC-MS/MS methods used for the determination of 24R,25(OH)2D3. /// Sample value(s) - please ask for current certificate.

National Institute of Standards and Technology

NIST provides over 1300 Standard Reference Materials® as well as articles and practice guides describing the development, analysis and use of SRMs.

NIST Standard Reference Materials are used by analytical laboratories in industry, academia and government in order to facilitate commerce and trade and to advance research and development. The SRMs are produced by the engineering laboratory, the material measurement laboratory, and the physical measurement laboratory at NIST. They are available for chemical composition, physical properties, and engineering materials.
